[ Jyuto wonders how much he can get away with. Ignoring the vegetables, he's incredibly fixated on getting Kogami to put the grape down simply because he wants to see if he can make it happen. He watches the plate held above him in contemplation. At first, he sits on his hind legs and makes himself very long and tall again, sniffing. He wants Kogami to know that he still wants the grape. Then, in a carefully calculated ploy, he flops over onto the dinner table to roll onto his back, exposing his evil but fluffy tummy up to the ceiling as Kogami strokes his velvety soft ears. Trying so hard to utilize all the cuteness he can muster, he chins again at the first knuckle of Kogami's thumb and places his little head in the palm of Kogami's hand. His back legs stretch, rabbit toes flexing and exposed. ]
oh, no. kogami stares down at jyuto, who has so expertly grasped the many advantages of a cute, furry little animal that even the most battle-hardened of men find difficult to resist.
he pauses, staring at the ridiculously alluring little furry belly, because he remembers how good it felt petting it and he's pretty damn sure they both know it. ]
Are you -- are you trying to cute me into getting what you want?
[ what a stupid question, of course he is, jyuto has grasped kogami's weakness and is clearly having a great time exploiting it.
and it's working, because kogami is putting the small saucer with the grape down and reaching to rub his belly. ]
[ Jyuto smirks at Kogami with his bunny eyes, head still nestled against his hand. It's funny how Kogami's perfectly aware of what Jyuto is doing to him, and yet caves to it regardless. He keeps his legs sprawled so that Kogami can pet the entirety of his belly, having learned to harness his newly attained power for selfish, selfish reasons.
Not that he'll actually act on them. It's clear now that he just wanted to assert his dominance over Kogami, because when he's finished being pet, he rolls right on over and moves over to the vegetables he'd ignored only moments before. The pride shows, puffing in the swell of his chest when he starts to munch on a baby carrot. He only waits for Kogami to realize it, the sounds of his crunching crisp and prominent in the kitchen... ]
[ this is a battle kogami will gracefully lose, if it means that jyuto lets him pet his cute little furry belly again. he doesn't even mind just how jyuto manages that smirk with just his eyes, or the fact that, after having asserted his dominance, he went straight to the vegetables.
kogami lingers near him, a full-grown man clearly unable to resist the cuteness of a rabbit digging into his saucer of food, and he's scritching him absently behind his ears. ]
How is it that you're even worse as a cute rabbit?
[ Even worse? What a compliment. Jyuto looks up from the dish while chewing more of his carrot. His eyes look like they're flattered by what Kogami's saying. Kogami is, after all, praising him to some degree, praising his ability to get people to do what he wants them to. That in itself answers the question, he thinks. Why being a cute rabbit would make things all the easier. He knows Kogami will figure out it out if he's left to think about it a moment longer, and so, he moves his attention to a leaf of cabbage, reeling it into his mouth with his teeth. Munch, munch, munch.
His ears twitch, and after remembering that Kogami hasn't had breakfast for himself he looks to him again. He doesn't mind being pet, naturally, but— Kogami? Aren't you forgetting something? Jyuto dips his head away, dodging the next rub of Kogami's fingers. Set on reminding him to eat, he picks up a bell pepper with his mouth and then tries to place it in Kogami's hand, dropping it so that it at the very least drops against his skin. ]
[ oh, he doesn't want anymore pets? kogami watches him deftly dodge, curious at the bell pepper he picks up and so adorably drops into his hand, even if it bounces off a little.
he raises his brows at him, picking it up as he examines the bell pepper. ]
You don't like it? But I thought I saw you eating it before.
[ Jyuto squints and contemplates how he can communicate that he wants Kogami to eat his own breakfast. If he shakes his head, Kogami might think he's confirming that the food tastes bad. Think harder, Kogami. Jyuto tries it again, this time taking a bite of the vegetable to show Kogami that he likes the food before dropping the rest of it close to Kogami's hand. He follows this up by scooting the rest of them closer to Kogami with his rabbit nose. It's time he helped himself to food, too! ]
[ oh! oh, that is so sweet. kogami definitely gets this one, especially when jyuto is considerate enough to take a bite of the bell pepper to show him that his initial hypothesis needs further polishing.
he smiles, then, before petting his ears and setting the vegetable back into jyuto's saucer. ]
You want me to eat with you. All right.
[ kogami's going to make his breakfast, too! coffee, toast, and butter. It takes him a few minutes, but eventually he's sitting right by jyuto, a plate of buttered toast before him and a steaming mug of coffee.
right, water. jyuto will need water, too. so he brings over a saucer of water for him as well, setting it by his vegetables. ]
[ Leave it to Kogami to pick up on the details others might gloss over. Jyuto's proud that he managed to figure it out, and sits patiently in front of his food while Kogami makes his own breakfast. After waiting politely for him to come back, he turns his body so that they're face to face, like any other time they'd eat together. Upon seeing the coffee mug, he feels a longing. Water isn't nearly as appealing in the morning. Even the pack of his cigarettes on the table... he grazes and thinks that it'd be nice to smoke right about now. The commentary from Kogami is good, because it distracts him from the withdrawal cravings that are beginning to crash down upon him, even as a rabbit.
Cute, hm? Of course Jyuto knows this. Well, unless Kogami's speaking beyond appearances. Jyuto isn't sure to what extent this compliment extends, but to show Kogami that he acknowledges the cuteness he currently possesses, he lowers himself into a little loaf, finishing off more of the vegetables with a lazy sniff. Once his meal is out of the way, he noses the prized grape towards himself and takes a large, juicy bite. It bursts beneath the skin, some pulp hanging from his chin when it does. It doesn't bother him the way it might ordinarily, and he looks over to the pack of cigarettes again, unable to forget that they're there. ]
[ look at him, that cute little loaf, and just how jyuto wields that cuteness like a weapon so expertly that kogami can't help but be impressed. the man is graceful even in this form, dainty and profoundly rabbit-like at the same time.
he notices the longing looks at the cigarette pack, and how it continues even while jyuto enthusiastically bites into his grape. turns out, even the succulent juiciness of that much-coveted grape isn't enough to thwart what is shaping up to be jyuto's nicotine craving.
that isn't new; he's always been used to smoking with jyuto after breakfast -- or just about any other time, really. reaching out to gently wipe the pulp from that furry chin, he delicately turns his cute loaf's attention back to him in his comfortably bare-chested glory. ]
[ Jyuto seems compliant enough to let the hand turn his head. He appreciates that Kogami is handsome, that Kogami wipes the lingering grape pulp from the bottom of his mouth, and that Kogami proposes a distraction from the box of cigarettes. Still, he isn't hungry anymore, so he won't agree to a strawberry. If he overeats, his tummy may pop.
Instead of sulking over tobacco, Jyuto defeatedly hops closer to Kogami's side of the table, taking a peek into his coffee cup with his head when he's close by. He gazes at the bunny rabbit reflection that looks back up at him in the darkness of the drink. Removing his head, he sighs audibly. There are too many things he can't enjoy like this.
Kogami, take him. He periscopes to let him know that he desires to be held again. ]
[ okay, so no strawberries, that's excellent. but what's less excellent is hearing an extremely cute and small rabbit actually sigh. he's pretty sure it's not rabbitly possible, but then it's jyuto-rabbit, and so exceptions happen.
and he sympathises, too, because being denied caffeine and nicotine is about the worst thing to happen to any man. although when his imperious bunny periscopes in a signal that obviously means he wants to be swept away dramatically from all that causes him to be melancholy, kogami just gives him an amused little smile and reaches for the mug to take a sip. ]
I'm not done with my breakfast, you know. Also, I need to take photos of you.
[ Jyuto remains completely still, rabbit frame still upright and expectant. Kogami is defying him? His paws wiggle. Bunny ears turn forward more, listening for a better reason. Why does not being done with breakfast or needing to take pictures mean that he can't be held right now? Jyuto squints. He thinks Kogami just enjoys riling him up here, and after he realizes Kogami isn't going to cave, he lowers back into a sit. His nose scrunches. Wait— what's this he hears?
His communicator buzzes in bed of the other room, and Jyuto's ears angle in the corresponding direction, eyes wide. He gives Kogami and his food his butt, hopping away and towards the sound before accidentally skidding along the surface of the table because it's more slippery than anticipated. Does Kogami not hear it? Jyuto clumsily scrambles back up and periscopes again for attention, looking at Kogami in the same pose once more but this time at the end of the table close enough to the bedroom. ]
[ kogami is definitely defying him, because there's everything delightful about watching the tiny rabbit overlord try to assert his dominance over him -- and he can practically tell that the bunny is snootily almost telling him that he can carry him and have his coffee at the same time.
but then jyuto perks again, scooting over to the end of the table, and kogami instinctively knows that he isn't kidding this time -- he's obviously heard something with those big ears, and he's scooping him up into his arms now, tucking the furry little bun against his chest as he tries to listen for the sound.
oh, right. just barely, the vibrating communicator.
he goes to the bedroom to where the communicator is still buzzing, but before he answers, however, he sets jyuto carefully down, props the phone up with the pillow, and slides it so that if the video link comes on, it'll focus right on the bunny while kogami settles on the bed right beside the phone, out of the frame. ]
[ He's carried when it counts. Jyuto squints at Kogami the entire time he's brought to the room, because he hadn't wanted to give this to him until it'd been absolutely needed. This man.
Once he's placed on the splay of the mattress, Jyuto looks into reflection of his communicator, reminded that he's a rabbit again, only this time he's simply waiting for the back light to flicker on and unveil who's on the other line. Greeted by Kogami's voice but a very confusing projection of a rabbit, the man on the other line, a guy who's almost ironically buff, shirtless and littered with scars, moves closer to the camera, trying to figure out why there's a bunny being displayed to him.
"Haa? The fuck?" Is he seeing things right? The thug wipes his nose with the back of his hand and sniffs.
This is a messy situation for him. Kogami doesn't know the specifics of how Jyuto gets his work done, and neither party can explain themself to Kogami with things as they are. Jyuto because he lacks the literal ability to speak, and the affiliate because he's vowed secrecy. The brown rabbit hops forward with a little glare, tapping the end call button with the bottom of his paw, feigning that the stranger called his number by mistake. That's a passable story, isn't it?
Only that the man calls again immediately after being hung up on, and Jyuto is startled by the buzzing and nearly falling over after a brief moment of feeling successful. ]
[ kogami knows suspicious behaviour when he sees it, just as he knows very well that this man knows jyuto in some way or another that is difficult to explain, and he doesn't move a muscle when the bunny moves forward to end the call.
it might be a passable story to anyone else who isn't kogami, who doesn't understand that sometimes the road to achieving your own ends isn't as straightforward as people make it out to be. so kogami stares at the rabbit when the call comes in again, predictably.
he only catches the briefest of glimpses of the man before he cuts the call again and turns it off. whoever he is, jyuto can deal with him when he becomes a person again.
he reaches over to him and gently rubs the base of his ears instead. and, knowing full well that jyuto can't answer: ]
[ Jyuto is visibly relieved when Kogami shuts off the second call, and he bows his head into the pets to thank him for sparing them both of an awkward situation. He's enjoying how the warp pads of Kogami's fingers rub against the velvet of his ears until he's quipped with a question that offends him—
In answer to it, Jyuto backs out, ducks out of Kogami's affectionate hand and then looks at him flabbergasted, as if he doesn't believe what he's being asked. His nose crinkles and with a little glare of his rabbit eyes, he nips down on Kogami's wrist with enough force to hurt but not draw blood, punishing him for the suggestion. The bite is brief and hardly lasts, but when Jyuto pulls his head back, he's bristled and looks like he might try it again if Kogami insists on continuing with his teasing.
That lowlife's the kind of guy Kogami thinks Jyuto would actually bed? Take it back! ]
jyuto nips him hard enough to hurt but not draw blood, and kogami winces, the message received loud and clear. that he is so affronted by this assumption is incredibly endearing, and he holds his palm out apologetically instead -- ]
Ah, I'm sorry.
[ a necessary thing, or his bristling rabbit will never let him pet him again. ]
I should've known that you've got better taste than that.
[ Forgiven. The fur that had stood up on end falls back into place, and Jyuto sits his weight back onto his butt, not quite ready to accept Kogami's offered hand. He grooms himself out of instinct, huffing through his nostrils and washing his face with the side of his paws, like he's tidying himself after a moment of having lost his composure. After he's pressed his fur down neatly enough, he looks at Kogami and then his palm, like he's not sure he wants to let him pet him anymore, when in actuality it doesn't actually make him that angry. In truth, he's just wonders how Kogami will behave when he thinks Jyuto is upset with him. And so, he leaves him hanging, watching him with an indifferent look on his face not too different than any other animal pretending not to notice someone when beckoned to. ]
[ and now his testy bunny is testing him. kogami watches him groom himself, delicate and elegant when in such a small furry body, and he wiggles his fingers briefly once jyuto has settled and is eyeing him indifferently.
he's noticed. he's definitely noticed that kogami wants to pet him again, and so he rests his hand, palm up on the bed before him.
[ Jyuto grooms himself some more, like a princess from a storybook bathing herself in the privacy of her tower, completely removed from the corrupted influence of society. The influence that would be Kogami's. To make things worse for his human other half, he yawns with a tiny squeak before flopping onto his side and stretching himself out on the mattress, still inconveniently out of reach. He watches Kogami's wiggling fingers, still very much pretending to be an animal that does not register whatever the gesture could possibly mean. ]
[ oh, look at him, he's absolutely precious. kogami falls for those flirty little ways, because he's sitting up and leaning forward, reaching to stroke his little tummy.
if his bunny doesn't want to come to him, then he'll go to his bunny. atone and all that.
[ An urge to be evil passes Jyuto, but he doesn't act on it. Kogami doesn't deserve another bite when he's already apologized, and he's already shifting forward so that he can make amends and come to Jyuto instead. Jyuto turns his legs out a little to expose more of the soft belly to Kogami, watching him with big, round eyes that have softened, no longer mischievous or mean. Quite the opposite, actually. He can't help himself.
He nudges his face under Kogami's palm again, smearing his cheek into the joint of his thumb. Beneath it, he sighs. Just how long is he going to be stuck like this, anyway? He can't hold him properly. A moment of contemplation passes, and then he remembers that rabbits have their own way of kissing, so...
A few more rubs, and then he pushes his nose against Kogami's hand and licks what skin is close enough to him. ]
[ is jyubunny licking him? he is. that tiny tongue is surprising and welcome in its precious affection, and kogami smiles before he scoops him up and gathers him on his chest, right on top of his pecs and all.
by now jyuto must be weary of all this excitement, and he enjoys the bunny kisses for a few more moments before musing: ]
I have to go out and buy some groceries today. Want to come with me? You'll have to be stuffed in my jacket if you want to come along.
[ Jyuto likes this placement better. It's a more intimate space. He seems much more attentive now that he isn't trying to seem upset anymore, head tilting as Kogami proposes an outing together even with him in this form. The two of them... they've never gone shopping for groceries together, have they? It's awfully domestic. He's strangely flattered by the offer even though it might not mean anything to Kogami, and to answer yes, he reaches to put both his front paws on Kogami's chin and gives his top lip another rabbit kiss, same as his hand had earlier received. ]
